Peer Learning is the Preferred Leadership Development Approach

A wonderful article by Tony Gambill at Forbes.com provides an excellent explanation of how peer learning groups work and what they accomplish. As he says: Peer Coaching Groups provide an environment for leaders to practice coaching skills to support their peers in practicing and developing chosen leadership skills that they will then use in their daily work settings.”

The peer learning groups established by The Peer Learning Institute are very similar to the peer coaching groups Gambill describes, although the commitment is not as long, the sessions are 90 minutes a month apart, and there is no mentor coach since the group members facilitate their own conversation.
